Cant pay: Work Hard:: Work Hard : Get cheated

This has been the story since ages in Indian medical entrance exams. Poor GOVT medical college fellows of periphery those who haven't even seen the CT scan machine are made to answer about the mechanism of MRI or PET scan machine. Around 80000 aspirants fight it tooth and nail for 5000 govt seats. After struggling to get into medical stream after 12th std they grind for 5 and a half years. then they prepare for pg entrance for a year and give the entrance. Which has 300 multiple option questions of as many as 19 subjects which are to be answered in 210 mins. The paradox of this entrance is neither the question paper is handed over to the candidate after exam nor the ans for the questions are published. The candidate is suppose to ans and come out and sit blindly till the results. In between all this few high tech morons use gadgets to copy in such a high profile entrance. In a way copying is idiotic in such entrances. I say even if they provide all the books or internet answering the questions wont be child's play!

Polio, are you willing to go now?

Polio has been an issue of great challenge for the policy makers and executing authorities in the past decade or so. This debilitating disease has been eradicated from most of the countries except for few SEAR and African countries India stands tall.. In spite of herculean efforts by the Govt of India and WHO, Polio always ended up on being the winning side. But there seems to be a glimpse of victory for the authorities as this year ie. from 13th jan 2011 to 12th jan 2012 there were NO POLIO CASES in the country. Kudos to the concerned authorities and wish them luck. http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/releases/2012/polio_20120113/en/index.html

wake up to the updated world!

hi, Its a general notion that medical students(especially from India) aren't updated about the things which are going on around them. Be it general knowledge or recent topics in their own medical field. To survive in this rat racing world one needs to be updated about his field as much as possible. at the same time medical field is so vast that one cannot be in touch with all events happening around. Here is a small effort to help all my fellows to learn and get updated. I hope it helps me and others as well as others.
